Free Hosting From Crucial Web Hosting

My hosting company released a new version of their affiliate program, Crucial Cash, in the beginning of February, and I just got around to signing up.

It works similar to DreamHost’s affiliate program, DreamHost Rewards, but with a much nicer interface, more features, and better payouts.

How To Create A Web 2.0 Badge In Fireworks

By now everyone has seen the badges, which are sometimes called seals, all over the web. There’s a really simple way to do this using Macromedia Adobe Fireworks.

For this tutorial, we’re going to replicate the badge seen on Crucial Web Hosting. We’re going to duplicate the curved text by using the Text On A Path feature, and the actual badge is nothing more than a star with a lot of points, or rays, since a typical star has about three to five points.

Redirect Visitors From Non-WWW To WWW Version Of Your Website With .htaccess And mod_rewrite

Apache’s mod_rewrite module is a very powerful tool. And there’s some neat tricks you can do with it. This trick involves forcing visitors and search engine robots to either the WWW version of your website, www.yourdomain.com, or the non-WWW version of your website, yourdomain.com.

This is probably not something you want to change up after your site has been up for a while, but something you should think about in the development stages of your website. Changing this after you’ve already been indexed can have some unwanted efffects, like loss of PageRank or a complete removal and then reindex of your website by the search engine bots.
